Igesund keeps mum

After a torrid first round of the Absa Premiership, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Gordon Igesund, pictured, says he will speak about his plans for the team next week.

But those interested will be keeping a keen eye on who he decides to keep on his championship winning team, and who will be on the transfer list.

The coach says he will only let it be known next week whose services are no longer required, which means that players will have to wait until then to find out their fate.

But Igesund's selection policy might offer clues into how his list will look. Names such as Lungisani Ndlela, Manqoba "Shakes" Ngwenya, Elias Ngoepe and Tyren Arendse usually crop up when the topic of disgruntled players is discussed.

Left-back David Kannemeyer is also said to be unhappy about not having featured for the team in a long time since coming back from a lengthy injury lay-off.

So, the list might offer some surprises when it eventually comes out, but regardless of who goes, Igesund has said he is looking for five classy players to reinforce his team and give it the quality it is lacking.
