Festival for writers

Edward Tsumele

Edward Tsumele

The fifth manuscript exhibition and the first of its kind in the country will take place later this year.

As in previous years, it will also incorporate the Jozi Spoken Word Festival.

The exhibition be will hosted by Wits University in August.

Those who have written works that are gathering dust are especially encouraged to submit their work to be part of this innovative exhibition. The manuscript that the organisers are looking for could be in the form of text, visual, audio, journals or blogs.

The Fifth Manuscript Exhibition will be organised by Art and Healing in collaboration with Botsotso Publishing.

The Jozi Spoken Word Festival features poetry and other spoken word performances as well as symposia and workshops. There may also be a film aspect that will see the screening of documentaries and footage of spoken word artists.

Those interested in submitting their works can do so by contacting hummingbird@artstudio.co.za
