Six face forced labour

N'DJAMENA - Chad's chief prosecutor yesterday asked a court to sentence six French aid workers to terms of between seven and 11 years of forced labour for trying to kidnap 103 children from the country.

N'DJAMENA - Chad's chief prosecutor yesterday asked a court to sentence six French aid workers to terms of between seven and 11 years of forced labour for trying to kidnap 103 children from the country.

The prosecutor made the request on the fourth day of the trial in N'Djamena of six members of the French humanitarian group Zoe's Ark, who were arrested in late October for trying to fly the children, aged one to 10 years, to Europe.

They deny the charges. - Reuters
