'Nothing will stop him'

Nothing will stop ANC president Jacob Zuma from becoming the next president of South Africa.

This was said by the party's eThekwini region secretary, John Mchunu, on Saturday afternoon.

Mchunu was speaking at Zuma's victory celebrations on Durban's beach-front, organised by the eThekwini region.

More than 4000 ANC members attended the function. Zuma did sgow since he was reported to be relaxing at his home in Inkandla after the taxing Limpopo conference.

Mchunu described Zuma as one of the tried-and-tested leaders of the movement.

He predicted that Zuma would become one of the country's best presidents.

"He will never fail the people," Mchunu said. "He is a man of honour and integrity and will be one of the best presidents this country will ever have."

Those who attended the celebrations include Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Aziz Pahad; KwaZulu-Natal premier Sbu Ndebele; transport, community safety and liaison MEC Bheki Cele, who is also chairman of the region; and mayor Obed Mlaba.
