The Dis-Chem Pharmacy group has joined forces with Retina South Africa in funding the non-profit organisation's renowned "Ride for Sight" cycling event on February 17 at Boksburg City Stadium.

The milestone event will include a tandem category for the disabled as well as a shorter 58km Challenge that is ridden in conjunction with the 116km national super classic.

An amount of R70000 will be up for grabs for cyclists and additional prizes of R50000 will go to the lucky draw winners.

The entry fee for the 58km challenge is R90 and R140 for the 116km.

The event will be the last to be held in Gauteng in which cyclists can improve their Argus seeding ahead of the Cape Argus Pick 'n Pay Cycle Tour scheduled for Cape Town in March.

Organisers are expecting a big turnout at the event and proceeds will be donated to Retina South Africa.
