Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
Four men are expected to appear in the Vereeniging magistrate's court tomorrow on rape and robbery charges after being on the run for almost four months.
The men, aged between 18 and 33 years, were arrested by De Deur police yesterday.
Vaal Rand police spokesman Captain Veli Mcera said the four were wanted for crimes they allegedly committed in August.
"On August 24, they allegedly attacked an elderly couple in a house at Ironsyde and robbed them of their belongings, before raping the 61-year-old woman," said Mcera.
"The men then forced the woman into her car, drove for about a kilometre, got off and ordered her to drive back home."
They were arrested after being pointed out by an informant who had bought a cellphone from them. - Ntwaagae Seleka
