Boxing trainer Jabulani Malinga has sworn by his mother that both Silence Mabuza and Simphiwe Vetyeka would not last four rounds in the ring with son Vus'Umuzi.
Malinga, pictured, was responding to trainer Nick Durandt, who had challenged Vus'Umuzi last week to show his mettle by taking on Vetyeka before embarking on his route to fighting for the WBC bantamweight belt.
"Ngifunga umama - I swear by mother - Vusi will stop both Durandt's boxers in four rounds," said Malinga.
However, it is a pity that such match-ups will not take place sooner. Vus'Umuzi, the WBC International champion, has his eyes fixed firmly on the WBC eliminator with Veeraphol Nakhonluang next year while Mabuza defends the IBO belt against Malcolm Tunacao on February 2.
Vetyeka is still working his way again after being outpointed by WBC champion Hosumi Hasegawa in May.
"I suggested to Nick that both his fighters must fight Vusi in one night and he ignored me. Why make anoise now. It seems Nick has forgotten what Vusi did to his fighter Cedrick Conway in 2002."
Vus'Umuzi, with no experience then, easily stopped Conway in three rounds to win the SA title.
