An 18-month-old baby girl drowned in a swimming pool in Gauteng at the weekend, said Netcare 911 spokesman Nick Dollman.
"The baby girl drowned in the swimming pool in Linmeyer, South of Johannesburg," said Dollman.
Dollman said the child was found floating in the pool.
"It was unclear how long the child had been in the water before she was discovered."
Dollman said the child was rushed to the Netcare 911 Union Hospital where she later died.
"The family of the dead girl was traumatised by the death of their child and were treated for trauma," he said.
