Soccer legend Jomo Sono will be among the big shots in soccer administration who will be honoured by Safa Soweto region at Maponya Mall on December 18. The event starts at 7pm.

"Jomo was part of the original list and the development of soccer in Soweto is incomplete without Jomo's name," said Phil "Chippa" Mogodi, Safa Soweto regional president.

"Bra J (Sono) was part of the 2010 World Cup campaign, he was one of the legends who also helped in conducting the recent preliminary draw in December," said Mogodi, who plans to make the awards a yearly event.

Other big shots who will be honoured include Irvin Khoza, Molefi Oliphant and Danny Jordaan for their role in helping South Africa win the 2010 World Cup bid.

"The Local Organising Committee informed us that Danny is out of the country until December 20, we hope to have somebody to represent him," said Mogodi.

Others include Jacob Sephooa, Johannes Mofokeng, Pitso Mosimane, Mike Ntombela, Johannes Khomane and Alfred Lentsoane.
