A man in his 20s was shot in the head and arrested by Johannesburg police on Monday night after he shot at them.
The incident happened in Troyeville after the same man and his three associates allegedly attempted to hijack a Toyota Tazz.
While busy taking a statement from the car owner, police received another call of a robbery in the same street. "On their way to the address, officers saw two men carrying a 74cm flat screen television and a briefcase," said the police.
The men ran away but police gave chase and cornered one of them. "He then drew a firearm and shot at the police who returned fire."
