Santos and Kaizer Chiefs shared the spoils in in their exciting but goalless Absa Premiership match at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town last night.

It was the seventh draw by the two sides since the start of the season in August.

As for Amakhosi, it was the second consecutive one after a 1-1 draw with AmaZulu in Durban last Wednesday night.

The two sides missed several scoring opportunities in this game that saw goalkeepers Itumeleng "Kwasa Kwasa" Khune of Chiefs and Lee Langeveldt working overtime.

Muhsin Ertugral, Chiefs' coach, said in a post-match interview: "I'm tired of complaining every time about the officials [referees]. It was not our day, but we are not strong up front."

His counterpart at Santos, Jean-Marc Ithier, was satisfied with the result, though he felt his charges deserved to win.

"We created a lot of opportunities but failed to convert. We should have wrapped it up in the first [half] but luck was not on our side."

l Bloemfontein Celtic and Thanda Royal Zulu played to a 1-1 draw in a Premiership match at Seisa Ramabodu Stadium yesterday, reports Thabo Johnson.

Phunya Selesele were the first to score in the eighth minute through Lebohang Kukame.

But the hosts' joy was short-lived when Thanda equalised three minutes later via Melyvin Parker.
