This was after his five star display during the year, which also included him helping Amabhokobhoko to win the Rugby World Cup in France.
Subsequent to the World Cup, it was not surprising to see the popular Habana grabbing the 2007 South African Rugby Player of the Year.
The other top South African athletes for the main award are Portia "Bashin" Modise, Robbie Hunter, Benni McCarthy and Oscar Pistorius.
Modise is the captain of Banyana Banyana. She is plying her trade in Denmark. - Sowetan
