Police in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, are hot on the heels of a robber who stole from tourists, posing as a police officer.
Police said yesterday that tourists from Thailand were stopped by the suspect. He produced a SAPS card and told them he was a police officer. Handbags belonging to two women tourists were searched and R60000 and $400 was taken.
No one sustained injuries during the robbery. One of the tourists took a photo of the suspect using a cellphone. Any information can be passed on to investigating officer Detective Inspector Mkhachane Mathebula on 082-556-4946.
