Police have issued a stern warning to criminals and potential criminals to think twice before messing up with the law.
This comes after the arrest of a 45-year-old woman yesterday morning for possession of dagga worth over R2500.
Police spokesman Senior Superintendent Jay Naicker said police were determined to hunt down every criminal.
The woman was arrested by members of the crime prevention unit in Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal.
"Police were conducting a stop- and-search operation at KwaKhoza reserve outside Eshowe when they stopped a bakkie heading to town.
"While searching the vehicle, they found dagga concealed in two bags," said Naicker.
He said the owner of the parcel was immediately arrested by the police officials.
"According to police officials, the dagga was destined to be sold on the streets and in the taxi ranks in town," he said.
Naicker said the woman was charged for being in possession of dagga. "Police officials in Eshowe have stepped up operations in hotpots in the run-up to the festive season.
"So criminals beware," he added. The woman, alleged to be a known drug dealer, is due to appear in court soon.
