What better way to end the 2007 jazz calender than with the Oude Meester East Comes Alive Jazz Evening? On December 14, Ray Phiri & Stimela, Jaziel Brothers and McCoy Mrubata will grace the stage at the Birchwood Hotel and Conference Centre as they bid farewell to what has been an exciting year for jazz.

Phiri & Stimela will be the house band for this yearly year-end event. The band will play at the event every year, building up to 2010. Stimela has just finished shooting a DVD that will capture both the old and the evolving sounds of the band as it matures. The band is preparing itself to offer audiences what has never been seen on stage.

Sharing the stage with Stimela will be Mrubata, who will be gracing the Oude Meester stage for the third time.

Giving their debut performance on the stage will be the Jaziel Brothers. The duo is behind Lesego's Sama winning album My Music. Putting on their own music with their debut album, The Beginning, the brothers promise to add a different sound to the evening. This promises to be a night to remember as Ekhuruleni comes alive. A full house is anticipated for this extraordinary night of jazz. The performers promise the audience a show with a difference. Tickets and tables must be booked before to avoid disappointment as none will be sold at the event.
