A man accused of killing a 39-year-old Machubeni Platkop village resident will remain in custody until his bail application, Queenstown police said yesterday.

The man appeared in the Lady Frere magistrate's court on charges of murder on Monday.

Captain Mlumkisi Baku-Baku said it was believed that the two men began quarrelling during a circumcision celebration in the Machubeni Platkop village, near Lady Frere, on Friday.

"It is unknown what started the altercation, but the wounded man died on the way to hospital," said Baku-Baku. - Sapa
