A woman at the concert in Fishkill, north of New York City, said she suffered concussion when she was struck by the young fan Akon had tossed off the stage.
The concert incident in June occurred after an audience member threw an object at the singer, who then pulled a 15-year-old boy from the crowd and tossed him into the audience, hitting the woman, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported.
If convicted, Akon, 34, whose album Konvicted sold more than 1,3million copies, faces a maximum penalty of one year in jail. - Reuters
