"We are tightening the security screws throughout our correctional centres," he said.
"From today to January 15, we will step up security in all our facilities with more limitations on offender movement, bringing of food parcels and other goods by families."
Balfour said the department had conclusive evidence that there were heightened efforts by prisoners to escape during the festive season. - Staff Reporter
