The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says the "crisis" in Nigerian football needs inspection.
The Nigeria Football Association (NFA) and the Nigeria Football League (NFL) have had a long-standing tussle over matters such as the selection of officials and the fulfilment of fixtures.
"Recent trends are concerning and we need to take a closer look," EFCC chairman Nuhu Ribadu said.
"For us to develop football we must put corruption out of it, we must sanitise (and) we must clean up."
