Mahwelereng Spikes and Seleteng Giant Killers have produced the standout performances of the season so far, brushing aside their opponents with a swagger, and their meeting on Sunday has all the ingredients of a thriller.

This eagerly awaited tie should give softball enthusiasts, who are expected to come in throngs to the ballpark, an early indication of who is likely to wear the crown this season.

The two antagonists meet in a Limpopo Softball Association LimDev Super League top-of-the-table clash at Seshego diamonds at 3.30pm.

The match will rekindle memories of last season's league decider at the same venue between the two Limpopo softball giants, where the Snakes were crowned the 2006-07 league champions.

This was despite the fact that Killers won that match 10-6.

Spikes won the championship thanks to a better run difference than Killers.

Spikes are leading the 12-team log with 27 points from nine matches and Killers are second on 24, with a game in hand.

Sello "Zoro" Rampedi, Killers' coach, will pin his hopes on the likes of national players Chosi Seleka, Tumelo Mphahlele and Vasna "VR6" Molaba.

The Snakes also have enough depth in their arsenal and the likes of Thabo Tawane, Nakedi Mohlake, Thabang Letsoalo and Nakedi Raphalo could ensure the success of the team on the day.

Spikes' title credentials will also be tested by the powerful Moletlane Texas, whom they confront at 1pm.

Texas v Seshego Raiders (10.30am); Killers v Mamaolo Rebels (10.30am); Spikes v Texas (1pm); Raiders v Rebels (1pm) and Spikes v Killers (3.30pm).
