Northwest MEC for sport Ndleleni Duma and the Tlokwe Local Municipality have been complimented for saving the two WBF title fights that will take place tonight at Tlokwe Banquet Hall in Potchefstroom.

Mbali Zantsi, who is promoting the tournament jointly with Junior Ramovha, was full of praise for the Northwest government.

"They have been wonderful to us. They did not only give us funds for this tournament, but they also gave us manpower to put this tournament together. We are grateful," said Zantsi, who promotes under Showtime Promotions.

Ramovha had intended staging the fights in Limpopo a month ago but financial constraints forced him to look further afield. Zantsi's business acumen saw the jigsaw puzzle pieces fall into place.

Topping their bill is Muvhuso "Hands of Thunder" Nedzanani defending the junior flyweight belt against Colombian John Alberto Molina. Nedzanani is a hot favourite to retain the title as he has both the skill and power to do so.

Zantsi has no doubt in her mind that the champion from Limpopo, a former SA and WBC International champion, will register the first successful defence of the title he won against Jose Jiminez in June.

She warned fight enthusiasts to brace themselves for a furious encounter between Oscar Chauke and Wonga Mhlana for the vacant junior featherweight belt in the main supporting bout.

Charity Mukondeleli takes on Khanyakude Mukansi in the junior flyweight while Koos Sibiya fights Phathusedzo Dongolo in the junior featherweight division.
