A heated argument between a couple in Limpopo over domestic problems turned ugly when a female police inspector allegedly shot and killed her husband with a service pistol.
The 33-year-old suspect, attached to the Thabazimbi police station, has been arrested and will appear in the Thabazimbi magistrate's court today. The incident happened at the couple's home on Wednesday night, according to the police.
Police identified the deceased as Francois Coetzee, 27, who was married to the suspect.
Provincial police spokesman Superintendent Mohale Ramatseba said the matter was investigated.
Ramatseba said preliminary investigations had revealed that the couple had a heated argument before the tragedy.
Ramatseba said the suspect had earlier reported that the man shot himself with her service pistol. But police investigations later revealed that the suspect was responsible for the killing.
