A Member of music outfit Gumshev, Nkululeko Cakwede, aka Fistos, is agitated after he was nearly shot by a taxi driver.

He said he was in a taxi on his way from home in Kagiso to Johannesburg when he had an argument with the driver over R20.

Fistos, 24, said he paid with a R20 note but the driver insisted that he gave him R10.

"We argued until he stopped the taxi and demanded that I get out of his taxi. When I refused, he came and manhandled me. He pulled a gun out and pointed it at me. At this stage, passengers started screaming and getting out of the taxi."

Fistos, who was sent to Leeuwkop prison for six years for robbery, said he did not want to fight with the driver because his parole had not yet been lifted.

Nine months prior to his release, he and another Gumshev member, Brian Majola, aka Bruno, a friend he met in prison, phoned Ghetto Ruff asking for a record deal. Upon their release, Ghetto Ruff gave them a deal.

Sergeant Andrew Swanepoel of Brixton police station confirmed that Fistos opened a case of attempted murder, which was transferred to Krugersdorp police station.
