A Limpopo family has been searching for their relative for 20 years without success.
David Mashilo's family at Ngwaabe in Sekhukhune area have searched everywhere for him but in vain. Mashilo, 49, was an emerging entrepreneur. He disappeared in August 1987.
They are not sure whether he is still alive or dead. According to unconfirmed reports shortly after his disappearance, Mashilo was allegedly killed and buried at a farm in Marble Hall. But investigations into the matter have since yielded nothing.
The missing man's nephew, Michael Mabogwane, 45, told Sowetan yesterday that they had followed every lead to try and find his uncle but had failed.
Mabogwane said Mashilo disappeared after receiving his severance package from Eskom, where he had worked for 12 years. He said Mashilo wanted to establish his own business at the time
Mashilo bought a tractor from a garage in Groblersdal. He later established that it had mechanical problems.
He returned it to the dealer, who paid him back his money on August 25 1987.
That was the last time they saw or heard from Mashilo.
