As a father, I thought a lot about the innocent young boy. I hear that the so-called ritual killers are supposed to remove the body parts while their victim is still alive. How cruel?

If I were president of this country, I would make sure that the death penalty is reinstated. I was disappointed when President Thabo Mbeki was approached by an SABC news team to share his views about the murder of Lucky Dube two days after the incident. His response was weak and did not express anger. The week after Dube's death, Mbeki was only concerned about changing the name of Bafana Bafana.

I was irritated because I thought crime would take centre-stage, but not in this country. Fortunately, I will not be voting for the ruling party as they've failed to address the issue of safety and security of all citizens. The newspapers are doing a great job by capturing these stories, but the law seems to be ignored by criminals. A simple solution to this is to bring back harsh sentences and the death penalty. Any party that promises to bring back the death penalty will have my support.
