Fans will descend on Sandton's Innis Free Park as an impressive line-up of Afro-pop musicians entertain them at the Motswako Summer Sounds 1 Festival.

Nine solo artists and groups have been booked for November 25.

The line-up are Sis n' Jones, Black Coffee, DJ Sbu, Khanyisile Mbau, Siphokazi, Lira, Nhlanhla, Ntando and Malaika.

Siphokazi proved that her voice is enduring and it is fast consolidating her on the local jazz scene.

Mbau became popular on the soapie Muvhango. She has also acted in several other television shows. Wearing an entertainer's hat this time round, Mbau is about to release a new album.

Lira has a solid act with an equally solid and sizeable fan base.

Malaika needs no introduction, particularly to Afro-pop music fans. The group proved that they are no walk-over at putting up stunning shows.

Ntando's fans runs into the thousands. He is a hit, particularly with female fans.

Nhlanhla, who went solo after making a name for herself with Malaika and Mafikizolo is hot, as is DJ Sbu, Black Coffee and Sis n' Jones. The festival starts at 9am. Tickets are R100 and R150.
