Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
The South African Football Association (Safa) is this week expected to announce Orlando Pirates' youth coach, Tebogo "Tebza ngwana" Moloi, as the new Under-17 (Amajimbos) coach.
Moloi is expected to guide the team in the inaugural Under-17 Cosafa Cup to be staged in Windhoek, Namibia, in December by not later than next week.
Safa spokesman Morio Sanyane says they will announce the coach after he has signed the contract with them. He, however, could not deny or confirm if the speculation about Moloi is correct or not.
"Safa's technical committee led by Sturu Pasiya have already recommended to us the new coach for the Under-17. But I can't reveal his name right now because the contract negotiations are still underway," Sanyane said.
The front-runners for the Amajimbos job were Moloi and SuperSport United youth coach Solly Luvhengo, who previously coached the national Under-14 squad at the International Youth Tournament earlier this year.
The job had previously been held by the erstwhile Amakhosi favourite son, Doctor "16V" Khumalo, who in reality never got a chance to sit on the bench and guide the youngsters.
His first assignment to lead the junior national team was in Togo, but that clashed with his wedding to a Namibian lass and he requested to be excused. - Sapa and Sello Rabothata
