The JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge, which is the world's largest corporate road race series, returns for the fifth year since its inception in 2003.

The JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge, which is the world's largest corporate road race series, returns for the fifth year since its inception in 2003.

The race, which is and is open to teams of four or more full-time employees from companies and government organisations, will take place on March 6 next year at the Wanderers Club in Johannesburg.

The four fastest times of each team in the male, female and mixed team categories are used to determine overall winning teams.

Each category's winning team will compete against participants from 12 cities from around the world in New York City.

This yearly event takes place in October and features the fastest runners from more than 100 international companies competing for the prestigious global title on Park Avenue.

Last month, South Africa's Enos Matalane (Transnet Rail Engineering) won his second individual men's title at the championships, beating more than 500 international runners.

The team from Transnet Rail Engineering has won the men's team title for four consecutive years and set the series' fastest time in the process.

Next year's event in Johannesburg will benefit Makhulong a Matala (Makhulong).

Makhulong, a subsidiary of the Johannesburg Housing Company, is dedicated to community development.

All its programmes are aimed at building relationships within the communities to stimulate economic empowerment, especially for children, women and young adults. - Sapa
