A Limpopo pastor jumped with excitement as the man who sodomised him was jailed for 23 years.

Pastor Mike Goldstein of the Children Alive Ministry jumped, laughed and danced in the Giyani magistrate's court yesterday after the sentence was pronounced.

Magistrate Chris Mthombeni also jailed Victor Reckson Baloyi, 26, to 15 years for robbery.

The sentences will run concurrently.

The pastor told the court that on August 10 last year Baloyi burst into his house in Mavalani village near Giyani after mimicking the voice of his friend who works with him in the church.

"Baloyi pulled out a screwdriver and threatened to kill me," said the minister.

He ransacked the house and after failing to get money, started frying eggs.

"After eating the eggs, he forced me onto the bed, stripped me and penetrated me through my anus."

Baloyi fled, taking food and a cellphone.
