The new public protector says she will leave the dispute over the state capture report prepared by h.
It is clear that businessman and retired politician Cyril Ramaphosa is the people's choice as the next president of the ANC and also of South Africa.
What is puzzling, though, is that the ANC branches keep ignoring that fact and continue choosing those leaders that South Africans do not want as their president.
My word of caution to the ANC is that people are not stupid.
The popular saying: "He who laughs last, laughs the best," comes to mind.
This might happen to the ANC if its members are not careful. The people might not vote for the party if the branches continue to act as perverse as they are doing.
Branches must choose a capable leader, the people's choice. Choose someone who is untainted and above reproach.
With all due respect and not ignoring his struggle credentials, we definitely cannot have Jacob Zuma as this country's president for obvious reasons. He is obviously not above reproach.
I really feel that President Thabo Mbeki has done his duty as well as he could as ANC president. I wish he would realise it.
It is time for new leadership. Let us learn from Nelson Mandela.
