Popular DJ S'bu is wanted by police for allegedly hijacking a luxury German minibus in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, on Saturday.
Police say the formerly- hooded Mzekezeke and kwaito star threatened a promoter in Mthatha on Saturday and took the hired vehicle from him, sped to Gauteng, dumping a show he was scheduled to perform in in Mthatha that evening.
S'bu, whose real name is S'bu Leope, was on the Akulalwa Final Tour to launch his new CD in Eastern Cape.
He performed in East London on Friday and was billed for Mthatha the following night.
Music promoter and tour organiser Monde Tshamlambo said he had never seen Leope in such a state before.
Tshamlambo said it all started when he was driving Leope and his manager Sanele Dlamini around Mthatha for some sight-seeing.
He said Leope received a phone call from a woman who told him to return to Johannesburg as soon as possible.
Tshamlambo said: "He then became aggressive and swore at me and called me a liar.
"He took the keys from me by force and drove to Qumbu.
"I pleaded with him that the car was hired as he was driving at high speed, but he did not care."
Also, Tshamlambo said Leope told a motorist at a petrol station that his mother (Tshalambo's) was dead and needed to be taken home and gave him R100 to take Tshamlambo home.
"He and his manager then took the car and drove back to Johannesburg, leaving me and the fans who paid for the show high and dry."
Qumbu police station spokesman Inspector Patrick Mgawu said: "The complainant opened a case of hijacking and unauthorised use of a vehicle against Leope on Saturda.," said Mgawu.
Investigations are under way.
