Many young South Africans wish to study but are prevented from doing so because they lack funds. What can they do?

One option is to apply for a bursary. Most universities will tell you about the bursaries that are available for the courses you wish to study.

Another option is to apply for a student loan from a bank, which you will have to repay after graduation. Depending on the bank, you can use the money from your student loan for your tuition fees, text books and accommodation.

For more information about bursaries and student loans log on to the websites of universities and banks, or visit your local library: wits.ac.za; sasol.com; tut.ac.za
