In the very short time that Petros Wonder Langa was the speaker in the Thaba Chweu Municipality he served with diligence and true leadership.

Langa died on Saturday when his car ploughed into bushes and hit a pole.

According to the police, he was flung out of the car and died on the scene.

He was in the company of three members of the ANC Youth League and another man who had asked for a lift.

Mahlatse Sihlangu, 15, died on her arrival in hospital and the other two Vusi Mdluli, 34, and Mahlatsi Malumane, 15, are recovering in hospital.

Fifteen-year-old Zodwa Maimela was discharged from hospital on Tuesday.

Langa was born on June 13, 1977 at Marambane Township in Mashishing - formerly Lydenburg.

He attended Marambane Primary and Mashishing Secondary, matriculating in 1994.

He was deployed as a ward candidate during last year's local government elections and led the ANC to victory.

He was appointed the speaker and was sworn in on August 29 this year.

Langa is survived by his parents, wife, daughter and two brothers. He will be buried at Marambane cemetery tomorrow, after a service at the local community hall from 7am.
