Fire-friendly tree

Giant sequoia trees depend on fire to help them survive. Without fire, other shrubs tend to shade the sequoia seedlings and prevent them from growing. Their thick bark protects the living part of the massive trunks from burning and they have high branches that can escape most fires. Violent Planet, Ticktock
