This year, fans can look forward to some impressive newcomers from as far afield as Australia and a few ranked South Africans in the prestigious Nedbank Golf Challenge.

The tournament, that will be played at the Gary Player Country Club at Sun City, is bound to be one of the most thrilling. It tees off from November 29 to December 2.

Tournament director Alastair Roper said this year's line-up was unquestionably one of the most impressive so far, featuring 11 of the world's top 20 golfers.

Zimbabwean golfer Nick Price, who won this event twice, is, however, not in the line-up.

"Nick Price, who was a regular in this event, now plays on the Seniors Tour and has not played regularly since 2005. He is over 50 years now and cannot cope with the new crop of young golfers," said Roper.

Those who will be making their debut are Justin Rose from England, Geoff Ogivly from Australia and South African Rory Sabbatini.

"The greatest golf legends in the world have walked the fairways of the Gary Player Country Club since the inception if the tournament and this year is no exception. As 12 of the world's top ranked golfer's tee up, fans will be able to enjoy first-hand the experience of being amongst greatness," said Roper.

He said Sabbatini has been playing overseas but had hinted that he was coming back.

"The calibre of golfers participating in this year's event shows that the tournament remains a highlight on the golfing calendar."
