I disagree with Patrick B in his letter published in Sowetan of November 1 2007.

People like him do not understand the impact of their opinions.

I mean Sowetan is read by a lot of intelligent and well-educated people who don't deserve to read such silly comments.

The writer claims the name Bafana Bafana is meaningless.

Does a name really need to have a meaning? Do all the names in the world mean something?

Then what is the meaning of South Africa, North West, Eastern Cape? Aren't these just directions?

Can Patrick tell us what his name means, or because he has realised that his name has no meaning, is he going to change it?
