Three men who allegedly hijacked a man's car at his home in Three Rivers will appear in the Vereeniging Magistrate's Court today.

The men - aged 22, 28, and 31 - from Soweto, Palm Springs and Orange Farm, were arrested after a high-speed chase shortly after the hijacking on Wednesday.

Captain Shado Mashobane said two men went into Gert van Rensburg's garage while the third waited outside.

"One of them forced Van Rensburg into the back of his double-cab 4X4," said Mashobane. His wife called the police when the gang left with her husband.

"As they drove towards Johannesburg they saw a flying squad car and sped off," Mashobane said.

The police followed them to De Deur where the men abandoned the vehicle. Police arrested two of them and Van Rensburg pointed out the third, who had pretended to be a bystander.
