The Fees Must Fall protests had dire consequences for café employee Eddie at the University of Cape .
Selfless community worker Viwe Sidali, 29, has done it again.
Sidali, who was one of the category winners of the Old Mutual, SABC and Sowetan Community Builder of the Year Award for 2005, has just scooped another prestigious award for his sterling work of empowering young people in the Eastern Cape.
Sidali, who won in the competition's youth category, became a winner in the 2007 annual Metropolitan Eastern Cape Awards in Mthatha at the weekend.
"I want to thank all the people who supported me in my efforts to develop young people. This award will motivate me to work even harder," said Sidali.
The Annual Metropolitan Eastern Cape Awards were established in 2001 to honour people whose influence as role models and leaders, both nationally and internationally has helped shape the future of this country.
People considered for the awards should have distinguished themselves as shining examples and role models for future generations.
