The arrival of Gavin Hunt at SuperSport United in the off-season was hailed by many people but Matsatsantsa are still to shine in the Premiership under the mentorship of the Cape Town-born coach.

United's woes are likely to be compounded by Platinum Stars, their visitors at Super Stadium in Atteridgeville for an Absa Premiership commitment tomorrow at 7.30pm.

The Tycoons go into this match with a psychological boost, having beaten United 2-1 in their first round match last season. United won the corresponding fixture 3-0 in Rustenburg.

"It will be tough against Stars because they are a formidable side, but we are ready for them," David "Mazolman" Skosana, United's publicist, said yesterday.

"We will go flat out for a win because we need to start winning consistently. I appeal to people from around Pretoria to come in numbers to spur the players on. A person with one ticket will able to enter with his or her partner and their two children into the stadium."

Skosana maintained that the players' spirits had not been dampened by their exit from the Telkom Knockout Cup on Sunday after a 1-0 loss to Kaizer Chiefs .

Putco Mafani, the Tycoons' marketing and communications manager, warned yesterday that they would add to United's misery tomorrow.

"They are still dizzy after losing to Chiefs and we want to compound their dizziness and woes in front of their supporters," Mafani said. "But we are not going to underestimate United because we know what they are capable of."

He said forward Phumudzo Manenzhe, who got a knock in last weekend's goalless draw with Amakhosi, was fit.

Hunt has good players who are capable of dimming stars if they are not taken seriously.

l Moroka Swallows travel to Kings Park Stadium in Durban a better bet to beat basement club Thanda Royal Zulu in another Premiership match billed for tomorrow at 7.30pm.

The Birds flew with pride in their last league match when they pipped Black Leopards 1-0 last weekend, while Royals lost 1-0 to AmaZulu.
