For those who have not yet had the chance to see the award-winning Disney show The Lion King, they have been given another opportunity to do so at discounted ticket prices for the festive season.

And due to the huge success of the musical, the show has been extended for a second time.

The producers say 400000 tickets have been snapped up by eager audiences.

The show - which has already been seen by 35million people around the globe since its debut in 1997 - has been playing to packed houses at the Teatro at Montecasino, Fourways, since it opened in Johannesburg on June 6.

On offer for the first time are special festive Lion King packages, available on Wednesday and Thursday nights from December 3 in the top price R425 seat range with only one package allowed each customer.

Four seats cost R1200, five seats R1500 and six seats R1800, a saving of R125 a seat.

There is also a special festive season matinee/early evening package on Wednesdays at 2pm and Sundays at 6.30pm, also valid in the top price R350 seat range.

The Lion King is also drawing audiences from around South Africa and there are special show, flight and accommodation packages available for out-of-town visitors.

Disney's The Lion King in South Africa is co-produced by Lebo M and Pieter Toerien.

Booking is at Computicket with ticket prices ranging from R150 to R425 each.
