Inspector Richard Munyai said Mkhonto Mandla Cele, 27, was wanted in Jeppestown and KwaZulu-Natal.
Cele was previously arrested but managed to escape during a court appearance.
He has eluded police ever since. He previously faced charges of murder, robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
