Theatre icon Patrick Mynhardt has died.

The veteran South African actor died yesterday in London where he was performing his one-man show, Boy from Bethulie, at the Jermyn Street Theatre at West End.

He died from natural causes.

"This is a very sad end to our 30-year working relationship," said producer Colin Law, who was in London with Mynhardt.

"He died doing what he loved most - performing."

The actor is survived by his son, Johann, his grandchildren Liam Patrick and Euan Frederick, and his brother and sister.
