"The company delivered faulty sofas and don't want to rectify the problem.

"My wife is stressed and says I made a foolish decision when I bought the sofas without her," Mokhuwane says.

He wanted to surprise his wife when he bought sofas from OK Furniture in February last year.

The sofas cost R7144, but were defective when they were delivered. But because they were covered in plastic, Mokhuwane could not see the defect.

It was only at the weekend when his wife removed the plastic that they noticed the defects.

"The decoration was not the same and when looking closer, we noticed that the two-seater had been used before they were sold to me," says Mokhuwane.

He immediately got in touch with OK and was assured that the problem would be rectified.

"But it took OK Furniture six months to collect the sofas and the company now accuses me of causing the damage," Mokhuwane says.

He says OK did not value him as a customer when they sold him second-hand goods.

"OK did not have my interest at heart. They were only interested in my money."

Mokhuwane says he threatened to stop paying his account, but OK correctly advised him not to do so.

"I took their advice hoping they would play ball, but I later realised they were up to s#!t all along," says Mokhuwane.

He says the sale has caused him a lot of misery and his wife thinks he is a fool.

"My kids have to intervene every time my wife loses her cool," Mokhuwane says.

He says he has learnt the hard way not to surprise anyone, including his spouse.

Marcia Landman at OK Furniture head office is investigating the matter.
