Benny Boshomane, Limpopo Softball Association (LSA's) director of tournaments, says their aim is to keep their senior provincial squads solid and to compete for honours at national tournaments.

Boshomane said they were also eager to produce more players from the regional league for the senior provincial teams. They have organised a three-day training camp for emerging stars on the first weekend of November.

The camp has been organised in conjunction with Limpopo Academy of Sport and is targets young players campaigning in the LSA's Regional League.

"We are targeting 20 players in the men's squad and 40 in the women's team for the camp," said Boshomane yesterday. "To have these youngsters in such camps will benefit our senior provincial teams.

"This will also be good for our national squads because coaches will have a pool of players to choose from when they select their players.

We should consider that our senior players are not getting any younger and some of them will soon quit the game. We should have replacements for them."

Meanwhile, LimDev Super League newcomers Sebayeng Sharks failed to take advantage of their home turf when they embarrassingly lost their two matches without registering a single run in Solomondale on Sunday.

They lost 18-0 to defending champions Mahwelereng Spikes and also went down 8-0 to Red Scorpions. Spikes also had it easy against University of Limpopo, trouncing the hapless institution's side 14-2 in a one-sided clash.

Lebowakgomo Wildbeasts' woes continued on Sunday when they suffered a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Nick Mahlakola's Moletlane Texas.

Seleteng Giant Killers remain on top of the table after an 11-0 demolishing of Hlakola Dodgers. Dodgers made amends in their second game, when they beat Scorpions 10-8.
