Ithemba Institute of Technology, formerly Tladi Technical High School, is looking for Grade 10 recruits for next year.

They should be serious about acquiring knowledge and skills in technology, engineering and computers.

Sowetan has adopted Ithemba as part of the Aggrey Klaaste Nation Building Foundation's youth and community development programmes portfolio.

Ithemba's principal, Uzendt Peters, said: "Parents who are serious about their children's education should prepare them for the South African economy.

"Most of our sponsors are participating actively in our students' experiential inductions by providing access to the workplace," Peters said. Ithemba's major sponsors are MAN, Scania, J&J, the Swedish Trade Commission, Dell, Atlas, Johannesburg City Power, Alstom and IESA.

Ithemba places great emphasis on mathematics, technology, engineering, computers, science and information communications technology
