MarcAlex, the balladeers who made their names in the 1980s, are back together.

The talented brothers took the country by storm with their romantic music. They delivered a sterling performance at a reunion party at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown, Johannesburg, on Friday.

The surprise resurfacing of this once-sensational duo got tongues wagging. Does this mean the brothers have reunited after 10 years away from the pop music scene?

"Yes, we are back together and the performance on Friday marked our return to the music scene," an excited Marc Rantseli said yesterday. "We are releasing our new album this week called Stolen My Heart."

Marc said the duo was lining up shows for the festive season. He promised fans who followed the group's music in the 1980s that they are bringing back the same groove of love and romance, mixed with contemporary issues.

"It is a joy to realise this dream of doing it once more. Life took its own turn concerning our musical career when we broke up. But now we are back doing what our passion is, which is music," said his brother Alex.

Alex reiterated that they were sticking to the bewitching romantic music that made them South Africa's dominant pioneers of R&B in the 1980s.

Stolen My Heart will be released on Friday Marc has produced music off and on for the past 10 years. Alex ran an events-management company with his ex-wife Gerry Rantseli before their partnership ended in an acrimonious divorce about 18 months ago.
