Tributes for slain reggae artist Lucky Dube continued to pour as news of his death begin to sink in.

Though still hard to believe, the announcement of the arrest of his suspected killers yesterday provided a subdued relief

"On behalf of the South African Music Promoters Association (Sampa), I want to pass our sincere condolences to the family, record company, his management and music fans," said a subdued China Mpololo, deputy president of Sampa.

Deputy president Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka also added her voice saying Dube should be remembered for the role he played in uniting the country through his music.

For more than two decades, he confronted pertinent social and political issues through his music, bringing to the fore the pain and suffering of many South Africans," she said in a statement following Dube's killing on Thursday night.
