Mpumalanga police have released pictures of people they believe might be able to help them with investigations regarding the bank robbery in which a security guard was shot dead and more than R100000 stolen on September 27.
Three suspects entered the Delmas branch of the First National Bank at Willowbrooke Square shortly before 3pm and held bank staff at gunpoint before instructing clients to leave the bank.
The robbers managed to rob the bank of more than R100000 in cash and killed a security guard, Lean Truter, 37, on their way out.
They also shot and damaged several vehicles in the parking lot before fleeing in a white Volvo and a Mazda.
"They abandoned the two vehicles about 6km from the scene.
"The vehicles were subsequently positively identified as having been hijacked in Sandton and Littleton, Pretoria, respectively," said Mpumalanga police spokesman Captain Leonard Hlathi yesterday.
"We believe the men, who were caught on the bank's CCTV camera may assist us in our investigations. We are asking them to come forward," added Hlathi.
He also requested anyone with information about the incident, or the whereabouts of the men, to contact their nearest police station.
