The laid-back but luxurious "gent's estate" on "Millionaire's Bend" is situated on 5,1ha of lush land and includes manicured gardens, a boat house, jetty and three outside dwellings.

"River retreats like these are hard to come by and we expect competitive bidding," said Paul Winterstein, general manager of Aucor's Midrand property division.

"It's close to the city yet it has a cut-off appeal. Furthermore, with its thatched roof and rondavel-like design, it has a typically South African bushveld lapa allure that is ideal for quality leisure living."

The estate is not the only lot that gives Aucor's next multiproperty auction an unbeatable edge. Comprising 27 A-grade properties across the investor's spectrum, it's hard to single anything out.

Winterstein identified two other properties that top the lot list of the auction in a fortnight's time. These are an office block in Craighall Park and a "last development opportunity" in Fourways.
