Fireworks at ball game

League matches between Seleteng Giant Killers and Lebowakgomo Wildbeasts have produced fireworks in the past two seasons and their meeting in GaMphahlele on Sunday should live up to expectations.

The two Limpopo giants confront each other at Seleteng diamonds at 3.30pm.

It was Killers' turn last season when they beat Wildbeasts twice in the Super League.

Now the question is: who is going to dominate the 2007-08 season?

Interestingly, officials of the two sides claimed yesterday that the season will be theirs.

Irish "Coffee" Mphahlele, Killers' brand manager, said Wildbeasts were coming to Seleteng to roast on Sunday.

"I want to warn them that we will continue where we left off against them last season," said Mphahlele.

But Derrick Mahapa, Wildbeasts' technical coach, yesterday laughed off Mphahlele's threats and described his comments as trivial talk.

Killers and Wildbeasts should beat Mashite Eagles and Seshego Cannons in their opening matches at 10.30am.

Cannons will also engage Sebayeng Sharks at 1pm.
